The saying was intended to be cute, after all, everybody knows the devil is just an imaginary character. Although Wilson was a funny man, this line served to diminish the true nature of man's most menacing adversary.

The world is a diverse place, but all have one thing in common, a spiritual emptiness to fill. Islam does not accept Christmas, although many residents of Islamic countries are Christians and celebrate privately.

God created the Earth and all the elements necessary to sustain life. He then created Adam and Eve. God placed the Earth in a perfect orbit around the sun. The sun is the major energy source that maintains life on the Earth. God put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and supplied all their earthly needs.

By the early 1800s, most countries used precious metal, gold or silver, as collateral to ensure their currency. Most currency today is fiat, meaning it has no intrinsic worth, it's only as valuable as the government says it is.
