The Character of a Nation

Integrity is the principled truth! A person with integrity can be defined as someone with “sound moral character, and honor” (honesty); qualities few people possess these days. It is true; no people now nor have ever been perfect, but when the British colonies declared independence in 1776 America became the greatest nation on Earth. There is a good reason why America succeeded. Her foundation was built on principled truth, as declared in the Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable (absolute)  rights. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” Within these two sentences, the Declaration of Independence, the highest court in the land has declared as truth that God is the creator of life. That, we as a nation will firmly depend on God's divine guidance for protection and, that we will unite under God for the benefit of all.

God-centered truth has been traded in for an anything-goes society.  If it feels good, do it, is our united cry. Once God-fearing, America has become a nation corrupted to the core. The evidence is clear; traditional marriage is a thing of the past. Children are taught they descend from apes rather than children of God. Young kids and old pastors camp in front of the internet and watch porn all day. Honor is a thing of the past, lie if you can get away with it. The character of a nation is found in the fabric of its people; our fabric is tattered and falling apart. We have given up on God! He is no longer the center of our life, family, or nation. Like all great civilizations before us, we have abandoned the truth and gone our own way.

God has made a patient plea with a  promise to heal the nation of a humble people. If my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.”(2 Chron. 7:14) It may be too late for America, but it is never too late for us as individuals. God is long-suffering and desires to be the center of our life. Would you be willing to lead your family back to God? There are many benefits and no negatives in a trusting relationship with the God of the Bible. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:  Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,  Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s." (Psalm 103)
