What is Life All About?
This is the eternal question. Every person has asked themselves this question with hope the answer will come in some cerebral way that unravels the mystery. Here is what we know. We are a planet full of life. The Earth orbits a sun that never quits warming. We are one of nine planets in our sun's solar system. All nine planets orbit the same sun but only Earth can support life making it unique. The moon is about 1 quarter the size of the Earth and revolves around the sun in the same orbit as Earth. The moon does not support life. The Earth produces food sources that can sustain life without the help of man. Horses can live a healthy life eating only grass. Life on Earth produces life of the same kind whether it is plant or animal. Weeds make weeds and goats make baby goats. There is an obvious ecological system designed to produce, sustain and govern life. Human life is unique because we have the capacity to do what we can imagine. We can watch a bird fly and create an airplane. The Earth is unlike any known body of material because it was created to sustain life! All of the above statements can be observed with the naked eye. “ Since earliest times men have seen the Earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse for saying there is no God” (Ro. 1:20)
Because men are in rebellion against God, they will not accept the simple truth. Here is what we think we know. The Earth's orbit around the sun is by chance. The composition of the universe is the result of a cosmic explosion caused by elements that somehow existed on their own. Life created its self in the depths of a slime pit caused by the same explosion of elements that somehow existed on their own. The one-celled life form that came from the goop transformed its self into a vibrant intelligent human being through the evolutionary process. Life will continue to evolve into superhuman beings until we become gods ourselves. None of these statements can be observed, they are hypothetical and unreliable. They are subjective theories that are taught at every level of education from primary to university without one shred of definitive evidence.
Children will not be taught the creation story in public schools. It is the sole responsibility of parents to teach their children the truth. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.”(Gen.1:1) There is alarming evidence that more and more young people are buying into the idea that life is just an accident and therefore not worth much. The condition is evident in the listless nature of our younger generations. We will never become God but we can be part of His family if we choose to. Life is not an accident it is an everlasting condition with incredible rewards if you can simply believe.
