Your Ticket to Heaven
There are two questions that every person asks themselves. How did I arrive on Earth and how do I go to Heaven? The answer to the 1st question can be found in (The Truth About Evolution). Since we are already here, the second question becomes the most critical. Anyone with any sense wants to live forever in the company of God. After all, Heaven is a place of unimagined wonder. (What Heaven is Like) When God created the Earth and its inhabitants He established perfect law and order. After Adam broke the law, men tried to live by their own imperfect law. As a result, they became corrupt and unworthy of Heaven. No corruption is allowed in Heaven! God’s plan to overcome this dilemma was to provide a second perfect man that would become the sacrificial lamb. (Restoration of Man) God knew that every person born would need a special disposition to recognize and accept the sacrificial lamb so He added faith to the nature of Adam's race. “God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.“Then what can we boast about doing to earn our salvation? Nothing at all. Why? Because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds; it is based on what Christ has done and our faith in him.”(Rom.12:3-3:27)
Every person is born with enough faith to recognize Jesus as the lamb of God. “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! There is the Lamb of God who takes away the world’s sin!” (John 1:29) People that will not accept Jesus as Lord are simply in rebellion. They either want to be lord of their own corrupt life or they are not familiar with Scripture. “This is what the Scripture says: “God’s teaching is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart.” When the Bible refers to the heart of man it’s a reference to his spirit. It is that part of a person that connects with God. “It is the teaching of faith that we tell people. If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.” (Rom.10:8-13)
Being religious or being good is not what God is looking for, He is requiring us to believe what Jesus said. A religious man noticed that Jesus was different than others so he arranged a meeting after dark to find out why. “After dark one night a Jewish religious leader named Nicodemus, a member of the sect of the Pharisees, came for an interview with Jesus. “Sir,” he said, “we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miracles are proof enough of this.” Jesus could sense that Nicodemus was an honest man seeking the truth. Jesus replied, “With all the earnestness I possess I tell you this: Unless you are born again, you can never get into the Kingdom of God.” Jesus was speaking of a change in a person’s spirit. “Men can only reproduce human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven; so don’t be surprised at my statement that you must be born again!” (John 3:1-8) When we, by our own free-will accept Jesus through faith, our spirit is supernaturally changed, we are reborn into the family of God. It is an unmistakable conversion that all believers will confirm. For more about going to Heaven read Study More: it’s free!
