Systemic Evil

The word systemic has been used frequently these past few months. It’s a fancy word that simply means everywhere. When you apply systemic to covid-19 it implies a worldwide epidemic. When you apply it to protest it suggest global unrest. There is a certain evil in the world that no one will address for fear of being labeled a whacky nut-case. More often than not, systemic evil is labeled unrest or put in the ambiguous category of mental illness. Even in today's churches, pastors refuse to address the root cause of evil. In light of the recent events, I would like to once-again, expose the source of evil, the reason evil exists and what can be done about it. The first step in combating systemic evil is to believe and accept the Bible for what it clearly states. “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground—mighty though you were against the nations of the world.  For you said to yourself, “I will ascend to heaven and rule the angels. I will take the highest throne. I will preside on the Mount of Assembly far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.”(Isa. 14:12-14) Lucifer was an angel that believed he could be greater than his creator, God. He recruited an innumerable amount of angels in a failed attempt to dethrone God. Lucifer and his army of spirits were thrown out of Heaven, left to wander the spiritual universe at will. If Lucifer could not rule Heaven, he would settle for the Earth. Spirit beings have access to both the spiritual and material universes. When Adam relinquished his dominion of Earth given to him by God, he unwittingly gave his allegiance to Lucifer. Satan is the alias for Lucifer meaning evil. Adam and Satan temporarily undercut God’s plan for the Earth. Satan became the pseudo ruler of the EarthSatan, who is the god of this evil world,” “You went along with the crowd and were just like all the others, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air, who is at work right now in the hearts of those who are against the Lord.”(2 Cor. 4:4 Eph. 2:2) If we are not followers of Jesus Christ, then we are followers of Satan, willing or not. “We know that we are children of God and that all the rest of the world around us is under Satan’s power and control.”(1 John 5:19) It is impossible to call yourself a believer without recognizing the source of evil. Satan controls the social, political and educational systems of this world. Politicians, educators, and social media moguls are deceived by the very power they control. For this reason, they will refuse to acknowledge the true cause of evil that floods the Earth.

To defeat an enemy, one must be able to identify and acknowledge who the enemy is.  “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.”(Eph.6:12) Not long ago the church could be depended on to recognize the true source of evil, today it is politically and socially incorrect to claim the word of God as non-negotiable truth.
