God's Plan For The United Nations
On December 21, 2017, the United Nations voted to reject the proposition that Jerusalem was the historical capital of Israel. The result was an overwhelming 128 to 9, no votes. The UN decision not to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital is far more significant than meets the eye. The vote is a global ratification for the Palestinian right to call Jerusalem their future capital. 2000 years before Jesus was born, God made an agreement with Abraham the grandfather of Israel. The agreement included a parcel of land that Abraham’s descendants would inherit and inhabit forever. “And I will prepare an agreement between me and you. This agreement will also be for all your descendants. It will continue forever. I will be your God and the God of all your descendants. And I will give this land to you and to all your descendants.”(Gen.17:7,8) David, the Philistine Giant Slayer, was crowned King of Israel and made Jerusalem his capital. “He then ruled thirty-three years in Jerusalem as king of both Israel and Judah.”(2 Sa. 5:4,5) Mohammad, the father of Islam, was born 1500 years after the death of David. As far as the Palestinians are concerned they are descendants of the Philistines and have never ruled from Jerusalem. The timeline speaks for itself!
The prophet Zechariah looked far into the future and predicted the outcome of the UN vote. “This is the fate of Israel, as pronounced by the Lord. Jerusalem will be a heavy stone burdening the world. And though all the nations of the earth unite in an attempt to move her, they will all be crushed.” Zechariah’s vision is a direct reference to world events in this generation. “In that day, says the Lord, I will bewilder the armies drawn up against her, and make fools of them, for I will watch over the people of Judah. And the clans of Judah shall say to themselves, The people of Jerusalem have found strength in the Lord Almighty, their God.” The battle for modern-day Jerusalem is only just beginning, bitter words will turn to war and the nations that come up agents Jerusalem will be destroyed. “The Lord will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! My plan is to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” (Zech. 12) The United Nations will cease to exist.
As we rapidly move toward the end of this age, and the return of Jesus Christ to planet Earth, all the pieces of the prophetic puzzle are moving into place. The tiny nation of Israel and its capital Jerusalem are key parts of the end time mystery. Jerusalem will continue to be a heavy burden on the world in the coming months and years as the end of the age comes to a close. Many skeptics berate the Bible having never read its prophetic contents. This is what God is saying to the skeptic right now. “In the beginning, I told you what would happen in the end. A long time ago, I told you things that have not happened yet. When I plan something, it happens.”(Is. 46:10) If you want to know more about the future and what God said would happen in the end, read “Beam me up Commander” it’s free.
