What Can God Do For Me?
At first glance, this may seem like a selfish question, but the underlying truth is that God expects us to live with this mindset continually. All relationships with God in the material world are through faith. Faith is the link between the spiritual and material dimensions and the fundamental glue that binds God to His creation. “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”(Heb. 10:38) God has promised a treasure chest of benefits to those who will believe his every word without wavering. “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you. But when you ask him, be sure that you expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”(James 1:5,6) Because the world is full of danger, God wants to guide us through the rocky places of life. “The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take.” (Psalm 37:23)
How does one take advantage of the unlimited benefits God has promised people who will believe Him? First of all, you must know what God can do for you. Second, you must take advantage of what is already yours by faith, nothing wavering. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:” In Psalms 103, the Bible presents a shortlist of benefits already providing a wealth of assistance for your acceptance. “He forgives all our sins and heals all our sicknesses.4 He saves us from the grave, and he gives us love and compassion.
5 He gives us plenty of good things. He makes us young again, like an eagle that grows new feathers.6 The Lord does what is fair. He brings justice to all who have been hurt by others.” There are over 5,000 promises in the Bible that lead to the success of believers. What if you knew just 10% of the promises, wouldn't that ensure a more rewarding life?
To know what God can do for you personally, should be your number one priority. It's simple, take a few minutes away from Snapchat or People magazine, and daily search the scriptures for a promise you need. Shortly, they will add up until you can begin to dodge some of the potholes of life. By-the-way, you can search the scriptures right on your smartphone. Start with the assurance that Heaven is your final destination. “Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.”(John 3:16) For more about what God has in store for believers read “Beam me up Commander” its free.
