Ant Colony or Divine Purpose?
To know something about an ant is to simply observe the ones that find their way into your kitchen. They are not mental giants, but they have a lot in common. They can get from one place to the next in a straight line without looking up. Occasionally some get screwed up and go the wrong way bumping into each other. This is kind of hard to understand because they have great big eyes to see with. Ants’ lives are pretty mundane, they spend a lifetime eating, replicating, and bumping into each other. People that study ants are called Mycologists, they would like us to believe that ants have a sophisticated social system, that all have a good work ethic, and therefore, each little ant is of great benefit to the colony. In fact, they are mindless clones originating from one super ant, better known as, Queen. They are very easily influenced by the ant in front of them. In spite of having big eyes, they follow each other around by smelling the one in front of them. Once in a while, they will stray from the rest and become lunch for one of their bigger cousins. What is disturbing is that it appears our society is moving more toward ant colony mentality rather than Divine purpose.
When God created Adam He made him an individual with a free-will able to make up his own mind. God then gave Adam a new wife and instructed them how to live a successful eternal life, but warned them against what could result in bad decisions. With this information firmly established, God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the Earth. “God blessed them and said to them, “Have many children. Fill the earth and take control of it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. Rule over every living thing that moves on the earth.”(Gen.1:28) Adam and Eve failed their Divine purpose and became just two more dead ants. Every newborn has the same opportunity as Adam and Eve to fulfill a Divine purpose. To become children of the eternal God, to be part of the family, to be endowed with ability beyond the human imagination.
Will you choose to be part of the family of God and raise your children to be part of the family? Will you carefully follow God’s instruction that leads to success and cannot fail. “Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do.”(Josh. 1:8) Or, will you be just another ant following the one in front of you going nowhere?
