Don’t Read Between the Lines
It is not uncommon for Christian organizations to misconstrue the Bible at the expense of believers. Every church denomination has its own take on Bible interpretation. Have you ever asked yourself, if we are all Christians, why are there so many different church affiliations? The Bible is a simple explanation of the fall and restoration of mankind. It is a history of the process of restoration and a view into the destiny of men. The Bible does not change with time. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Heb 13:8) Since Jesus is a materialization of the Word (Bible), “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) The Bible remains relevant in its present form without the need for new revelation. If God is who he says he is, the creator and governor of the universe, then He is capable of preserving the intent of His Word throughout time. A literal acceptance of scripture would serve to place all Christians on the same page while at the same time providing extraordinary power through church unity. “Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you, ten thousand! You will defeat all of your enemies.”(Lev.26:8)
Arrogance has hindered the church from the beginning. Self-righteous men who believe they are smarter than God are used by the agents of Hell to infiltrate and influence the church. “Jesus said to his followers, “Be careful! Guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”(Matt. 16:6) The Pharisees and Sadducees were religious factions of Jesus' day, trusted by the people to keep the Word of God, and yet Jesus warned his followers to beware of their influence. Here, Jesus is suggesting they try adding their own vain philosophy to God's established Word. “Don’t let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men’s thoughts and ideas, instead of on what Christ has said.”(Col.2:8) Today's church is severely weakened by denominational division. In the digital world of communication, many church leaders seek celebrity and fortune rather than selfless service. Jesus warned that in the last day's many false teachers would rise up deceiving many people. “ Many false prophets will come and cause many people to believe things that are wrong.” (Matt. 24:11)
In these last days when deception is the rule, trust only your Bible for truth. The Word of God has sustained from the beginning throughout the present day. It is a supernatural document that cannot be destroyed. Don’t buy into the idea that only parts of the Bible can be trusted or that only selected men can understand it. Even the great apostle Paul was reviewed by the Berens who studied the scriptures daily. “These were nobler than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11) Accept the scripture for what it clearly says, refrain from reading between the lines. God has told us all he intends to tell us for a clear understanding of his intent. For more about the Bible read “Beam me up Commander” It's free.
