The Most Insightful History Book Ever Written
One of our greatest treasures is recorded history it shares the lives of people from the beginning and it answers the age-old question, what is the purpose of life? When Moses led the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage they crossed the Sinai Desert on their way to the land God promised Abraham. Along the way, Moses had several encounters with God. “And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.” (Ex.33:11) God commanded Moses to write a book about what God would teach him. “Then the Lord instructed Moses, “Write this into a permanent record, to be remembered forever.”(Ex. 17:14) This record would become the first 5 books of the Bible. These 5 books would contain the fundamental truth of creation, the origins of all things including human beings, the subsequent fall of mankind, and the redemption of the human race through Jesus Christ. “The scepter [of royalty] shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh [the Messiah, the Peaceful One] comes, And to Him shall be the obedience of the peoples.”(Gen. 49:10) The historical record will show that Jesus was born 4 thousand years after the creation of Adam the first man. The prophecy above will be completed when Jesus comes the second time as the Messiah.
In the beginning, God created two fully grown highly intelligent people that looked like Him. They were perfect in every way, they were given dominion over the earth and encouraged to reproduce and multiply the race. They were not descendants of monkeys who were created at the same time. Their children looked like they did, intelligent, and able to learn immediately. They were given free wills to make decisions according to what God taught them, or, they could do what they thought was right absent of God’s instruction. They chose to disobey God and go their way which led to a separation from their creator. This defiant decision lead to the total corruption of men's nature. In the same way, God inspired all Bible authors to write the history of their time as well as future events. One-quarter of the Bible is prophecy, and half of those prophecies have historically come to pass. All remaining Bible prophecy is about the second coming of Jesus Christ and is being fulfilled right now in this present generation.
