The Future of General Autonomous Intelligence
To futurists, Artificial Intelligence (AI) means something different than it does to the general population. Over the last 25 years, Artificial Intelligence has changed the course of human endeavor into cybernetic dependency. We use AI to gather and assimilate information used in our daily push-button life. There seems to be an application for every need or function. One near future medical breakthrough is a phone app that can scan your retina, blood sample and breath, then analyze biomarkers that will identify diseases. The convenience to buy and sell without leaving the comfort of your home or office is probably the most popular application used by the average consumer. Tech scientists have begun to develop the next generation of AI called, Autonomous Intelligence, (independent thinking). The next and final phase of the electric evolution is called General Autonomous Intelligence. The ability to reason cogently without, or maybe with emotion much like Hal did in the epic sci-fi movie “A Space Odyssey.” Some progressive forecasters even view GAI as a threat to take control of a helpless human race by force. Today's supercomputers can already read cyberspace, gathering information and make decisions without the help of programmers. Autonomous Intelligence is currently part of the landscape in the form of driverless cars. With the use of sensors and GPS, they have a mind of their own.
God gave the Apostle John an incredible view of the future two thousand years ago. What he saw looks profoundly similar to this present day. The vision is a picture of the times just before the second coming of Jesus Christ to planet Earth. The prophecy is about the final earthly dictator who tries to control the world by way of, Artificial Intelligence. “One of the heads of the beast looked as if it had been wounded and killed, but the death wound was healed. All the people in the world were amazed, and they all followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon because it had given its power to the beast, and they also worshipped the beast. (Rev 13:3,4) The Bible refers to this end time tyrant as the antichrist. Healed of a fatal wound; the world believes he has supernatural power and pledges their allegiance to him. Followers believe the power comes from Satan, so they worship him as well. If you are going to control the Earth, then you must be able to control the people's ability to buy and sell, that technology is already in effect today. “The second beast also forced all people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to have a mark put on their right hand or on their forehead. No one could buy or sell without this mark. This mark is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This number is the number of a man. It is 666. (Rev. 13:16-18)
Artificial Intelligence is the lying signs and wonders Paul wrote about that will cause a generation of naive young people to abandon God in-lieu of all its false promises. “When that Man of Evil comes, it will be the work of Satan. He will come with great power, and he will do all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders.”(2 Thes. 2:9) The trouble with progress in a corrupt world is that corrupt people control it. AI is neutral and useful, but evil men will find a way to hijack its value and use it against each other. The good news is, GAI will not take over the world because Jesus will return in time to put down the rebellion and take charge.
