The Importance of Personal Value
The title statement is not about financial success; it's about self-worth. Have you ever thought about yourself as just another grain of sand on the sand-pile of life? Have your hopes and dreams been shattered over and over again because of uncertainty and self-doubt? Do you feel unloved and not important? Do the people around you act indifferent and don't seem to care who you are? Is your phone your best friend? If you answered yes to any of the above, then you are part of the new age culture snowballing into despair. Could faith in bogus science contribute to this disturbing condition? Today’s life science classrooms have become a battleground for the heart and mind of the next generation. Evolution is taken for granted, yet it remains spurious science with no sustaining evidence. Is it any wonder why more and more young people are turning inward spending excessive amounts of time in the virtual worlds of electronics and less time in the real world? Could it have something to do with their perception of life and it's worth? Evolution depends on disorder to survive, but disorder never produces value. When challenged with the question of evolution this generation might respond something like this: ‘If we are nothing more than the product of a prehistoric accident then what's the point of anything?’
I've got some really good news; God knows who you are! He knew you before you were born. “Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I chose you for a special work.”(Je.1:5) He has something special for you to do. All you have to do is accept His offer. Jesus is waiting patiently for you to respond to His offer. “ Look! I have been standing at the door, and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.” (Rev. 3:20) The benefits of this relationship start the minute you open the door and ask Jesus in. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies.” (Ps. 103:4) This is just the beginning, “you are now a member of God’s family and entitled to His inheritance. “And since we are his children, we will share his treasures—for all God gives to his Son Jesus is now ours too.”(Ro. 8:17)
You are very important to God; why not join His family? You were born to do something special for the benefit of others. There is nothing more important than doing something for someone else. A kind act is worth more than all the financial wealth you can accumulate.
